Potters Class

A very warm welcome from all of the ‘Potters’.

This year Potters class are a single year class with 15 Reception pupils. Mrs. Woodley is the class teacher and  Mrs Fricker is Potters class teaching assistant.

You are welcome to visit us anytime; you will see that our classroom is bright and engaging and that we take learning outside at every opportunity. The children participate in a weekly Welly Walk and these are always very popular. Mums, dads and grandparents are invited along too! We always have lots of challenging learning activities to help us play, practise, extend and develop our knowledge and skills.

Each term we usually have a different theme so that our learning is fresh and fun! Parents receive a weekly email detailing key activities, this includes useful links to extend learning, for the coming week. Each term, parents and carers are invited into our classroom to reflect on their child’s learning journey and look at class displays.

We are VERY proud of our strong parent partnership and we encourage all parents to take an active part in their child’s learning. The children bring their reading folders into school each day and read regularly in school, as well as an expectation to read daily at home. At the end of the week they also take home a ‘Celebration book’ so that everyone can reflect on learning experiences from the week.  We encourage parents to add any comments that they feel they would like to make.

We like to share and celebrate special experiences at home too.  So, if your child does do something special we encourage you to complete one of our ‘WOW’ sheets and send it into school.  We LOVE sharing children’s successes, big or small.
